Meeting 1 F22 - Welcome to AIM! & Gartic Phone Game Night
Date - Tuesday, September 6th, 2022
Time - 7:00 to 8:00pm
Location - Melville Library W4530
Welcome to Artists in Medicine! The first meeting began with an introduction to our executive board and our club’s mission/goals. Members had a fun game session of Gartic Phone where everyone showcased their artistic abilities. Lastly, we hosted a Kahoot game to compete for the prize of Artists in Medicine t-shirts. Congratulations to the Kahoot winners!

Meeting 2 F22 - Guided Paint Night
Date - Tuesday, September 20th, 2022
Time - 7:00 to 8:00pm
Location - SAC Room 311
Artists in Medicine’s second meeting was a Guided Paint Night, led by our lovely Art Dpt. Liaison/Class Rep Michael Kearney!
We started off by updating everyone on project assignments. Topic assignments have been emailed to those who signed up. Members can always reach out to the e-board for any guidance with the project. If anyone is still interested, the Topic Sign Up form is still available.
AIM is also collaborating with the new social media app, BeReal! Members were encouraged to create a new BeReal account for a chance to win BeReal merchandise and an AIM t-shirt.
Afterwards, our members painted with Michael, incorporating their own creative styles into the artwork. We loved seeing all the different ways facial anatomy could be expressed in painting. See all the talented artwork and photos from the night here!

Meeting 3 F22 - Pass The Painting!
Date - Tuesday, October 4th, 2022
Time - 7:00 to 8:00pm
Location - SAC Room 302
Artists in Medicine hosted a “Pass the Painting!” event for their third GBM. Members had the option of choosing a theme of anatomy, medicine, or freestyle for the relay painting activity! The activity kicked off with some intense Mario Kart music to match the relay theme. We hope everyone had a lovely time adding their artistic touches to each painting that was passed to them. At the closing of the meeting, we spun a wheel to draw the winners for the Artists in Medicine x BeReal Raffle. Congratulations to the 3 winners! The prizes are an AIM t-shirt and BeReal merchandise.

Meeting 4 F22 - Make A Skull-O-Lantern
Date - Tuesday, October 25th, 2022
Time - 7:00 to 8:00pm
Location - SAC Room 306
In celebration of Halloween, Artists in Medicine hosted “Make a Skull-o-Lantern” for the fourth GBM! Everyone gathered together to paint, decorate, and illuminate their skull-shaped mason jars, while enjoying some treats. Some members also created spooky canvas paintings. In the process, skull-related artworks done by our members were displayed on the board. We hope our members learned something new about human skull anatomy from the artworks. Check out the pieces under our Independent Artwork tab.

Meeting 5 F22 - Cards For Veterans
Date - Tuesday, November 8th, 2022
Time - 7:00 to 8:00pm
Location - Melville Library W4530
As a way to honor our veterans, Artists in Medicine hosted “Cards for Veterans” activity for the fifth GBM! Members created some beautifully decorated cards using acrylic and watercolor. These cards will be brought to SBU’s Long Island State Veterans Home, and those who completed a card will receive a digital letter of acknowledgement for community service.

Meeting 6 F22 - Anatomy Clay Night
Date - Tuesday, November 22th, 2022
Time - 7:00 to 8:00pm
Location - SAC 302
For our sixth event of the semester, Artists In Medicine collaborated with SBU Art Club to host "Anatomy Clay Night." In this event, members got to mix, color, and mold clay into creative designs and detailed anatomical structures. Hooks and chains were also provided to make the clay creations into keychains.
